I want to order DSL/phone over Fiber Multiplexer. Can the POTs fiber multiplexer support DSL line transmission?
The POTs fiber multiplexer was mainly used to transmit voice calls over fiber. For economic reasons, the telephone system was designed to transmit signals in the frequency range of 300 Hz to 3.4 kHz (although the voice of a person can reach 15 kHz, it is still easy to identify the other party in this range). So the POTs fiber multiplexer are designed for the frequency telephone voice transmission.
DSL is another telenology which support the signal frequency from 0.2-800Khz.DSL services usually reserve a frequency range of 0.3-4 kHz for voice services, the other frequency is used to transmit data service.
For the frequency range is different, so the POTs fiber multiplexer and DSL use different modulation technology. The voice phone fiber multiplexer can not support DSL signal. If the user need also the ethernet data serice, Baudcom Ethernet+POTs fiber multiplexer can support the application, which can support 4/8/16/30 channel telephone voice and ethernet over fiber transmission. The bandwidth will be big than the DSL modem.
