BAUDCOM R3800 Series is the next-generation multiservice switching router platform developed by BAUDCOM. The router platform is of high performance by integrating a 64-bit multi-core processor, a high-speed switching chip and FPGA into one solution.
BAUDCOM R3800 Series includes models such as R3806 R3808C, R3808U, R3808T and R3808LTE. Each model has 1 gigabit WAN port, 8 gigabit LAN ports, 1 built-in 3G/4G module, 1 USB2.0 port. R3800 Series provides diversified options for the user.
BAUDCOM R3800 Series is equipped with BDROS operating system, of which BAUDCOM has the independent intellectual property right. BAUDCOM R3800 Series builds a real multiservice broadband platform by providing rich software functions such as routing, switching, safety and VPN.
With its strong processing and expansion capability, rich software functions and hardware modules, BAUDCOM Series meet requirements of the government, financial institutions, the defense system, operators and enterprises in network construction.
Main Characteristics
Ø High Performance
BAUDCOM R3800 Series is driven by the 64-bit dual-core processor with specialized gigabit ASIC switching chip and FPGA components, which enables the whole hardware platform to run on the high-speed Ethernet frame. The innovative design endows Router with a super processing capability, providing a guarantee for upper-layer software functions.
Ø Strong Expansibility
Because built on the basis of switching core, routers can expand their external interfaces, slots and modules without any limitation from the total CPU resources. The switching chip guarantees that the whole router is provided with sufficient and broadband internal channels, making the expansibility of routers exceed that of traditional modularized routers.
Ø Energy-Saving Advantage
R3800 Series adopt the new-generation hardware chip in consideration of energy saving while guaranteeing its strong processing capacity. Compared with the mainstream devices in the industry, power consumption of the router is reduced by 15% to 20%, which both reduces the device maintenance cost and accords with the low-carbon idea. BAUDCOM R3800 Series is also equipped with the environment friendly maglev mute fan.
Ø Varied Protocols
R3800 Series supports Layer 2 link protocols including HDLC, PPP and dot1q; static routing; policy routing; and dynamic routing such as RIP, OSPF and BGP. These routing protocols are well compatible with the devices manufactured by the mainstream vendors in the industry. Besides, R3800 Series supports integration of multiple services such as routing, switching, voice, safety and wireless, which meets the requirement of complicated network construction.
Ø New Services
R3800 Series supports the MPLS characteristics and the MPLS-based layer-2/layer-3 VPN technology, which realize the transparent Ethernet transmission service and the flexible enterprise interconnection. R3800 Series supports IPv6 data forwarding, routing protocols and multicast routing protocols; R3800 Series also supports the IPv4/IPv6 protocol stack and the interconnection technology, which makes the existing networks smoothly upgrade to IPv6.
Ø Secure Service Access
R3800 Series supports selective ACL firewall filtration technology, NAT, VPNs such as IPSec/L2TP/PPTP/GRE, and security technologies such as AAA, Radius, PAP/CHAP.
Ø Traffic Management Policy
R3800 Series supports varied queues including FIFO, PQ, CQ, CBWFQ, LLQ, WFQ, DSCP, IP Precedence, RTS, RSVP and CAR.
BAUDCOM R3800 Series supports its self-developed traffic control and service management policy (GBSC), which can better real-time arrange and monitor your data traffic.
Ø Flexible Management and Maintenance
R3800 Series is convenient in managing and monitoring the network by using the in-band and out-band management tools such as Console, Telnet, SSH and SNMP; R3800 Series also supports Chinese -English interface.

Typical Application
BD-R3806/R4806 routers adopt mature, stable and cost-effective communication modules, so they can run reliably for a long time under harsh environments such as high temperature, poor ventilation and bad grounding and help the management of hotel’s network easily. According to the high mobility of the hotels, BAUDCOM specially designs PNP for hotel’s network, at the same time these routers support many QoS policies, which enable the guests of the hotels to experience happy Internet surfing.
Typical application in enterprises
BD-R3806/4806 routers provide various behavior control policies according to the office's features. For example, they can identify and filter IM software like QQ and MSN, and shield P2P applications, and the entertainment, purchase or stock website on their own choice. At the same time, they provide versatile VPN technologies, for one, they support the static IP access and the dynamic PPPoE IP access, which is a sound solution for complicated remote networking.
Typical application in cyberbars
BD-R3806/4806 routers provide flexible multiline policies according to the requirements of cyberbars. They utilize “intelligent routing” to solve the access broadband bottleneck between Telcom A and Telcom B; they adopt “master/standby mode” to support automatic backup between multiple lines; they also support flexible bandwidth management to automatically check the network’s state so that they can use rate limit at the rush hour of a cyberbar to guarantee normal Internet surfing for everyone, or adopt loose rate-limit policies at the leisurely time to enjoy a happy Internet surfing experience.
